Employee Relations & Records Manager
Position Description

Work for an organization that makes a difference by changing the way America cares for children and families!  Father Flanagan’s Boys’ Home (FFBH) has created a new position focusing on providing a proactive employee relations climate.

 

Working under the direction of the Director of Employee Relations the successful candidate will provide advice, counsel, and guidance to management and employees.  Conducting research and investigation of concerns and charges.  Assisting the director in overseeing the corrective action processes to ensure a fair, consistent and caring management approach to disciplinary events.  Providing training for management on employee relations issues.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·   Coordinates and directs employee relations and employee records activities and assists in the development of employee relations and records policies and procedures; ensuring consistent and equitable application.

·   Maintains the integrity of the disciplinary process by collaborating with supervisors, participating in decision-making, and ensuring processes are in accordance with regulations, laws, and Boys Town policies.

·   Counsels employees with job-related concerns; investigates problems and concerns and recommends solutions.

·   Designs, implements and maintains audit procedures for employee relations and records activities; prepares reports for management use.

·   Trains managers to handle employee relations and related human resource issues ensuring compliance with personnel law.

·   Manages and evaluates the performance of the Employee Relations and Records staff; effectively recommends hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, and commendatory actions.

·   Ensures employee and non-employee records are compiled and maintained in accordance with license, legal, accreditation, and policy requirements.

·   Designs, implements, and monitors employee recognition activities, fostering Boys Town employee morale, teamwork, and retention.

·   Support organization effectiveness & culture initiatives.

Job Requirements:

 

·   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field is required. Masters degree is a plus!

·   PHR is preferred.

·   Five years progressive experience in Human Resources, with preference for experience in employee relations and employee record management.

·   Solid knowledge of personnel and labor laws.

·   Progressive experience in a supervisory role or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

·   Proficiency with Microsoft applications.

·   Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

·   Additional competencies include customer focus, problem solving and analysis, and the ability to collaborate and work with all levels of the organization including the Senior Management Team.
