The Risk Manager is responsible for the hospital risk management activities including: management of claims against the hospital, interfacing with defense legal counsel, administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, managing and analyzing risk management data, conducting risk management educational programs and complying with JCAHO risk management related standards (such as environment of care, root cause analysis performance). This individual is responsible for formulating policy or organizational changes concerning risk management. Serves as Chair of the Facility Safety Sub-Committee of the Environment of Care. |
| Qualifications |

Certification in Risk Management required including knowledge of risk management activities. Knowledge of JCAHO standards and other regulatory agency requirements. Registered Nurse or other clinical professional degree with Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Juris Doctorate (JD) preferred. Must be able to develop, write and interpret legal contracts. Advanced computer skills -prior didactic or practical experience with statistics preferred. Five years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting required. Supervisory experience preferred. |
