Position Description
Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Healthcare Consultant Clinical IT Project Director to join our team working to directly impact the quality of patient care in Canada.

*This role requires 75% travel throughout Canada, based on client needs. We strongly prefer candidates presently living in Toronto, Ontario. Other candidates will be considered but must have authorization to work in Canada permanently and possess required experience outlined below.

Responsibilities:

:

  • This position is designed for a senior level performer who can independently apply their clinical background and experience to form trusted relationships within our medium to large sized customers or potential customers.
  • Application of your technical expertise and knowledge of clinical workflows to change the way patient care is delivered helping customers to realize benefits through timely and expertly managed application of technology in a healthcare setting. You will be challenged to leverage your knowledge of and experience within a clinical care setting to resolve complex issues.
  • Using strengths drawn from Change Management or Project Management experience in a healthcare setting, you will learn and apply Perot Systems patented methodologies to change the way healthcare is delivered within our customer engagements.
  • For assigned engagements you may perform the role of Project Director, Change Manager, Project Manager and/or advisor depending on your depth of skills and customer requirements. In these roles, the C-Suite level customers are engaged and kept informed through the solid relationship you forge and maintain with them as a trusted advisor.
  • The Perot Systems team of consulting resources working within these engagements may report to you in medium to large engagements. These engagements will run on time, on budget with key expectations of the client consistently exceeded. The Perot Systems Canadian Management team is kept apprised of status, progress, issues, risk and strategies to drive business to solve the issues. Opportunities for improvement are brought forward with realistic strategies to achieve them.

    In this role you will:
  • Oversee the formulation of work plans/strategies and definition of activities and tasks; Monitors and tracks plans to ensure desired results; administers project budgets, issue lists and coordinates communication with all project constituents.
  • Provides oversight for the development of project charter, plan, scope documents, approach and engagement of organizational structure.
  • Prepare and conduct client presentations often at the executive level.
  • Ensures project management and change management methodology, tools and techniques and practice standards are used in the delivery of successful client engagements.
  • Participates and/or leads teams to develop and refine new methodologies and tools.
  • Speaks at major conferences and is recognized as a highly experienced healthcare consultant.
  • Publishes articles/white papers on relevant healthcare topics.
  • Maintains expected levels of utilization.


    Required Skills:
  • Executive level communication skills with solid experience facilitating and presenting to C-suite
  • Clinical background is essential
  • Canadian healthcare experience with large regional healthcare organization
  • In-depth experience with at least 1 of the following 4 areas, although experience within all areas would be preferred:
    (a) Change Management / Clinical Transformation
    (b) Project Directorship / Management
    (c) MEDITECH system experience, hands-on or at management level
    (d) Process Re-Design
  • Ability to travel weekly (75%) to client sites across Canada

    Desired Skills:
  • RN strongly preferred
  • Experience working in consulting environment
  • Track record of success managing healthcare IT delivery
  • PMP Certification
