The primary duties of the Senior Hydro-Mechanical Engineer relate to design efforts on hydroelectric power plant projects across North America.

Projects will include both life extension and upgrade of existing power generating facilities as well as design of new power generation facilities. Will provide field support during installation, testing and start-up of hydro equipment in the field. Establishes client relations, and is involved with the marketing, design and field implementation meetings with regard to hydro mechanical equipment and associated auxiliary systems. In addition, will support licensing and regulatory activities. Will provide support for business development and marketing efforts. For certain projects, may serve as a Project Manager in addition to serving in a lead technical role. As a Senior Engineer/PM, you will be expected to plan, organize, and supervise the work performed by engineering professionals and technicians from offices across the company on various projects.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; PE required. Candidate must have 10+ years experience in design and operational support of conventional and pumped storage hydroelectric generating stations. Experience with the design and testing of mechanical equipment including turbines, pump-turbines, pumps, large valves, compressors and other mechanical components. Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experience. Previous experience with a consulting engineering firm, A&E, EPC or Utility in a hydro facilities design capacity is required. Field work and occasional overnight travel will be required.
