Position Description
In December of 2008, HDR, a top 25 ENR ranked firm for Power with over 170 office locations and Devine Tarbell & Associates, Inc. (DTA), a leader in hydropower and water resources consulting services to the renewable energy industry, have joined together to create HDR/DTA. The combination of HDRs broad resources in the power industry and DTAs position as one of the top hydropower and pump storage firms, make HDR/DTA a significant provider of design and consulting services for the clients they serve.
HDR/DTA is currently in need of a Environmental EIT - Water Resources for our Charlotte, NC location.
This individual will be involved with a number of responsibilities in the environmental engineering field, including providing technical support for water resources engineering projects and water quality projects, designing and conducting field studies, performing hydraulic and hydrologic flow calculations, and analyzing/summarizing power plant operating data. The Environmental EIT - Water Resources will also take part in data management, technical writing, and presentations on an as-needed basis.

BS or MS in civil and/or environmental engineering with a concentration in water resources, hydrology, water quality, or other closely related field.
0+ years of professional work experience required; however experience with surface water hydraulics (both rivers and reservoirs), hydrologic calculations and prediction, surveying techniques, water quality, sediment transport, and data compilation and assimilation is highly desired.
Power industry experience (e.g.
hydropower) and experience in aquatic habitat modeling or fieldwork, watershed and water quality modeling, and erosion/sediment control is a plus.
EIT certification with expectation to acquire Professional Engineer certification is a must.
Must have the ability to work with project teams, private clients, and governmental agencies and handle multiple tasks effectively, which will require strong written, computer, and oral communications skills.
Must be able to work in the field using various watercraft and wading under challenging conditions.
