Pharmacists at The Nebraska Medical Center are responsible for the management of
pharmaceutical care, from the use of the newest technologies in the production
and
dissemination of pharmaceutical products to bedside care activities. Pharmacists
oversight
of the medication therapy process includes medication reconciliation, medication
therapy
management, drug information, and patient education. Pharmacists will
participate in
multidisciplinary activities, including rounds and performance improvement
initiatives. As
a primary practice location for the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy,
pharmacists
will participate in student and resident education. Pharmacists are offered professional
growth opportunities through staff development, research, and educational experiences
Work in close cooperation with the Clinical Services Managers and Systems/Operations Manager
in planning, implementing and supervising all pharmacy services related to his/her patient
care area. Provide the highest quality patient care. Seek out customer requirements and
meet them. Understand that to provide effective service to our customers requires teamwork.
Demonstrate by actions and decisions a dedication to continual and constant quality
improvement.
Qualifications:
A degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and successful completion of the Nebraska
Pharmacy examination and subsequent licensure within the State of Nebraska. Doctor of
Pharmacy Degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, with appropriate hospital experience
or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program preferred.
