More about usAbout
Chattanooga Truck Center, Inc was brought into existence in August of 1997 by Jeff Swartout and Ken Terry. Jeff and Ken had previously been employed at a local truck dealership, but had the American dream of having their own full service small, medium and heavy duty truck service facility, doing quality service and repairs at reasonable rates.
They started on a one-acre lot and put up their six-bay shop. Of course, they knew it would be a struggle to get their service facility kicked off, but with hard work, they soon hired a mechanic and soon after hired several more mechanics. It was soon obvious that the six-bay shop was no longer enough to facilitate the number of vehicles that were coming in every day so another acre, six more bays and a parts department were added.
In March of 2000, Jeff and Ken looked into UD Trucks and were quite impressed with the vehicle quality and workmanship. Combined, Jeff and Ken have over thirty years experience in the service industry, so they knew they were on the right track. They felt that it was time to broaden their horizons and offer the transportation industry a dependable, quality built vehicle at a reasonable price. In July of 2000, UD Trucks awarded Chattanooga Truck Center the honor of carrying the UD Truck line.
Philip Mansfield, our Parts Manager, has been in the automobile and truck parts business for over twenty years in Chattanooga. Peggy Hays, our office manager, has been in the medium and heavy-duty truck industry for over twenty years in accounting, parts inventory control, service and warranty departments. Our service department is staffed with certified technicians who are ready, willing and able to keep your vehicles in road ready condition. Our technicians are ASE certified in engine, transmission, power train and air conditioning, as well as, electrical repairs. We perform all aspects of major and minor repairs.
We have come a long way , but we attribute our success to the confidence our customers have in our dependability and workmanship. Through their loyalty, we have grown not only by adding on to our facility, but by understanding what our customers needs are and doing our very best to fulfill their service needs.
