Primary Summary:  

The Student Accounts Functional Analyst is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and monitoring tables within PeopleSoft Campus Solution for the department to ensure system functionality for use so business objectives can be met.  The analyst researches, troubleshoots systems errors and works with Technology Support for resolution. The Analyst tests and completes system upgrades, builds basic custom reports, runs reports, and archives data based on retention policies.  The Analyst develops and maintains metrics to ensure objectives are met.  Delays or errors in performing functions would have a significant impact to business operations and customers. The Analyst collaborates with other departments to troubleshoot their modules to ensure all modules are integrated correctly. Additionally, the Functional Analyst is the key contact when issues/problems occur with TouchNet, our Payment Gateway provider, troubleshooting issues and work with Workstation Support with installing software on desktops that process payments and makes updates to hardware (credit card readers).

 

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors pre/post-implementation problems and revisions.
  • Configures (Sets up) new tables and maintains and monitor various tables and data within the Student Financials module of PeopleSoft to ensure system in performing correctly.  Functions include, but not limited to:
    • Sets up billing and due date calendars
    • Sets up adjustment calendars to ensure refunds are paid correctly
    • Sets up term, course, and transaction fees  
    • Runs tuition calculation controls
    • Set up term defaults;
    • Item type setup; general ledger interface
    • Assigns applicable system security based on rules and role
    • Creates Payment Plans in PeopleSoft
    • Process 1098-T’s
    • Sets up Communications(3C)/maintains/updates as change occurs
    • Crates/Maintains Service Indicators and Student Groups.
    • Works with IT Business Analyst for updated equations as tuition increases
    • TouchNet Support
    • Maintains TouchNet Users including add and removing users.
    • Process End of Year activities
    • Sets up system for new initiatives
    • Create IQ Codes
    • Maintain IQ Code/Service Indicator automation
    • Runs daily departmental metric reports
  • Identifies, researches, and troubleshoots systems errors and problems and coordinates with Technology Support for resolution.
  • Collaborates with other departments to troubleshoot their modules to ensure all modules are integrated correctly.  
  • Performs upgrade functions and testing to ensure system readiness for production.
  • Using the TEST Environment - all new processes are set up in TEST first to ensure working properly and then moved into production.
  • Provides departmental end user support.
  • Develops basic custom reports and run reports for management use.
  • Keeps apprised of area of expertise and networks with the Higher Education User Group (HEUG) to identify new system opportunities.
  • Functional lead for projects that impact the Student Financial Module
    • Payment Gateway/TouchNet
    • PeopleSoft maintenance/PeopleTools/System upgrades
  • Updates daily metric report
  • Identifies daily jobs that run within system that fail and troubleshoot, collaborate with Technical Support.
  • Job requires nights/weekend work from home when new upgrades for PeopleSoft/TouchNet etc. are installed for testing before/after it is moved into Production
  • Update information required within TouchNet.
  • Works internal tickets within a timely manner (48 hrs from receipt).
  • Process daily reports

Position Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities:

 

Education: 

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related field preferred, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:  

  • Two (2) years’ experiences in Accounts Receivable or equivalent education or training.

 

Computer Skills: 

  • Two (2) years’ experience with PeopleSoft preferred; experience with PeopleSoft Student Financial module, snag it tools, and Query preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office- basic Word and intermediate skill in Excel.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in office, Work is often performed in time sensitive items and stressful situations.
