Our client is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join their team. The selected individual will be responsible for the financial planning and analysis operations of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of financial reports and other information. This individual will also establish, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems while managing finance operations and members of the finance team.
Job Duties

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, implementing, monitoring, and abiding by policies, procedures, and internal controls relating to accounting and business operations.
  • Oversee staff, to include recruiting, training, planning, monitoring, appraising performance, etc.
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision of all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including analyzing monthly financial statements for the board, administration, programs, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee payor audits and compliance audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local grants by keeping abreast of new and existing regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly grant billings, ensuring billing deadlines are met.
  • Review contracts as needed.
  • Provide grant budgeting, organizational budgeting, and forecasting and monitor the financial requirements of all grants and contracts.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with staff, volunteers, external partners, and all other stakeholders.
  • Always display a courteous and caring attitude to employees, clients, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Develop skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities.
  • Strive to make connections between the organization and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to ongoing fundraising and “friend-raising” efforts.
  • Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling, attendance, and deadlines.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends for the agency and agency foundations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excel expertise required.
  • Participate in the organization’s Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI) activities as assigned.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • At least five years’ hands-on accounting managerial experience, preferably in healthcare or a nonprofit setting.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare accounting, billing, and reimbursement processes.
  • Knowledge of federal grant billing requirements and working knowledge 2 CFR 200.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, productivity and cost accounting and related financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
