Position Summary
As our Territory Manager you won’t just manage a territory—you’ll own it! We are seeking a proactive, high-energy individual who’s focused on aggressively identifying, targeting, and acquiring new customers within an assigned geographic territory. This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline, and closing new accounts, while also growing existing relationships.
- Own the full sales cycle, with a strong emphasis on hunting for new business—from cold outreach and leading generation to proposal delivery and closing
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the transit sector through outbound calls, site visits, networking, and attending industry events
- Develop and implement a territory-specific sales strategy to achieve aggressive growth and revenue targets
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through continuous prospecting and relationship-building activities
- Leverage marketing collateral, corporate website, product demos, and customized quotations to convert leads into sales
- Recommend pricing strategies and negotiating deals in alignment with company goals and market conditions
- Partner with Engineering and Product Development teams to deliver customer-specific solutions that address transit industry needs
- Collaborate with Marketing to identify gaps in materials and support targeted outreach campaigns
- Log all sales activities, opportunities, and updates in the CRM system to maintain pipeline visibility and forecast accuracy
- Work closely with Inside Sales and Sales Support Specialists to streamline and accelerate the sales cycle
- Other duties as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Must be self-driven, goal-oriented, and energized by opening doors and converting cold leads to warm opportunities
- Strong strategic thinking, adaptability, and resourcefulness
- Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with consultative, SPIN, or Sandler selling methodologies preferred
- Comfortable working independently and thriving in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Secondary education preferred
- 3 years in a new business development, outside sales, or territory management role, with a consistent track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas; preferably within the transit sector
- Experience developing and executing outbound sales strategies in a defined territory
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel regularly within the territory including overnight as required, up to 30%
- Valid driver’s license required
- Background in consumer electronics, technology, or software is preferred
