Description

We are seeking a Full-Time Construction Engineer VIII in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate for this team will be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. This individual will have a proven track record of civil engineering and construction of engineering plans.   

In addition, this person will: 

  • Assist the Construction Department Manager to establish, monitor and maintain construction schedules to ensure profitability and quality control
  • Evaluate civil engineering construction plans for constructability and quality using civil engineering and construction knowledge
  • Attend meetings and prepare reports on construction project status to city officials, contractors,  clients and engineering project managers
  • Apply engineering standards as it pertains to setting elevations to lot grading, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and concrete paving.
  • Prepare pay estimates, quantity takeoffs, and material pricing
  • Coach and mentor construction administration team members

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nebraska
  • Fifteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience
  • Knowledge of construction of civil engineering plans
  • Demonstrated experience with project timelines and ensuring quality standards
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • Knowledge of the Omaha Regional Design Manual and PERMIX
  • Demonstrated knowledge of subdivision developments and site planning
  • Experience, leading, mentoring and coaching
  • Experience presenting at public events and directly to customers
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
