Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from June 2, 2025 â?? August 1, 2025.

The communications intern will work closely with team members to write and edit a variety of materials to support internal communications and media relations. This individual will also assist with ongoing programs and special events.

What you'll do: 
  • Write and edit a variety of communication pieces, including intranet and newsroom content, posters, scripts, brochures and other company collateral 

  • Work closely with communications staff to coordinate programs and projects 

  • Assist with special event planning and execution 

  • Must meet or exceed department attendance and timeliness requirements 

  • Must work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with others 

To be considered for this position, you must: 

  • Current college student pursuing a degree in Journalism, English, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Business 

  • Strong organizational skills with consistent attention to details and deadlines 

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) 

  • Strong collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AP Style
