Mobility Aid Cardiac Care Unit

Position Highlights

The Cardiac Care Unit-Post Cardiac Surgery (CCU-PCS) is a bridge between intensive care units and medical-surgical units. The patients require a high intensity of nursing care and/or a high level of surveillance (Ventricular Assist Devices-LVADs, Heart/Lung Transplants, Artificial Hearts, Complicated post Cardiac Surgical Patients, Specialized Care in Cardiac Drips, External Pacing, SWANs)

Shift Details:

Full- Time

Day

Perform basic patient care functions that assist with individualized patient mobility activites as directed by licensed nurse, physical therapist, and/or occupational therapist personnel.

Required Qualifications:

* Minimum of 18 years of age required.
* High school education or equivalent required.
* Completion of certified nursing assistant program or restorative program or experience in direct patient care required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).


Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.
* Proficient knowledge of use of patient care equipment/supplies preferred.
* Appropriate knowledge of good body mechanics preferred.

* Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
* Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
* Ability to work at a fast pace preferred.

* Ability to communicate effectively preferred.

*Ability to work in a team environment preferred.
* Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups preferred.
* Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate preferred.
