About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with a focus on IP, technology, and data. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support on a range of global technology-related issues, including intellectual property, artificial intelligence, and data use. This role involves the development and implementation of a comprehensive global IP strategy, maintenance of the IP portfolio, and the negotiation of complex technology-related agreements. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be a member in good standing of at least one state bar, and have a minimum of 6 years of experience in technology-related legal matters, with a strong background in IP. In-house experience at a multinational corporation, particularly in the pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or technology industries, is preferred. Key responsibilities for the Senior Corporate Counsel include enhancing the company's IP-related policies and procedures, participating in the drafting of AI use policies, and acting as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders on data use best practices and responsible AI. The role also involves assisting with IP, AI, and data use-related due diligence in corporate transactions and collaborating with various teams on data governance strategies. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the fundamentals of IP law, have experience in drafting and negotiating IP, AI, and data use agreements, and be motivated to become an expert on the key requirements of the EU AI Act. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent judgment and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
