Sr. Manager, Product Management - Inbound Payments Platform Making a payment towards your credit card is one of the most fundamental yet critical interactions we have with our customers. The Payments Platform team is hiring Sr. Managers of Product Management in two areas: - Driving our strategic vision across Payment Eligibility & Validation, Payments Data product, and Well-Managed Initiatives. This role is pivotal to our platform's success and offers an unparalleled opportunity to shape our approach to eligibility standards, data-driven insights, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and Define Strategy for key parts of the platform: Develop and execute the product strategy for our enterprise eligibility and validation services, focusing on supporting multiple tenants, providing self-service capabilities to non-engineering users, enabling engineering contributions from other groups, and driving transparency with our clients about what we are delivering and why.
- Drive Data Product Strategy: Oversee two enterprise data products and drive them to market.
- Champion Well-Managed Practices: Lead efforts to create resilient, secure, and audit-ready systems, embedding best practices across product development and operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, and enterprise teams to align on shared goals and drive seamless execution.
- Mentorship and Development: Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment by mentoring a talented team, providing them with the support and resources needed to succeed.
- Directly interacting with our clients to understand unique business needs and to onboard and care for new use cases. You will work with cross-functional teams (analytics, technology, operations, risk, etc.) to evolve how our platform provides leverage to the organization and re-imagine client interactions to make our platform as easy to use as possible.
Key Responsibilities: - Acts as the voice of the business and customer for the team
- Incorporates design thinking and analytics to inform product design
- Ensures a healthy backlog by regularly grooming intent with the team
- Prioritizes the Product Backlog to maximize on business and customer outcomes
- Defines acceptance criteria for work and accepts user stories
- Collaborates across teams and the Product Manager community
- Supports team with escalation and resolution of impediments
- Works directly with team and plays a key role in key Agile and SAFe ceremonies

In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas: - Human Centered
- You'll lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts to understand customer needs to drive the long term vision for your product
- You'll turn these customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision
- Business Focused
- You'll own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, working closely with a cross-functional team to ensure that all the right resources are aligned to ensure that and your team will be successful
- You'll define KPIs for your product and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates
- Technology Driven
- You'll have an end-to-end understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger ecosystem to be able to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business
- You'll work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the ultimately customer experience your team will deliver always looking to ensure you're using the best tool for the job
- Transformational Leadership
- You'll rally your teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem to align to your vision and influence prioritization across partner teams
- You'll be responsible for attracting and retaining top talent to your team and mentoring and developing associates on their product career

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience in digital product management
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- MBA or Master's degree
- 3+ years of experience in Agile product management
- Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management Illinois (Hybrid On-Site): $185,600 - $211,800 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
