Certified Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a construction company in Glendale. This organization is looking for a certified payroll specialist to join their team. This job is Monday-Friday 7am-4pm, fully onsite. You must have certified payroll experience, as well as construction industry experience to be considered for this role. Pay is up to $34/hr

As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for the field and office staff, with a strong focus on certified payroll reporting and compliance with prevailing wage requirements. This is a fully in-office position, ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of payroll processes within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws and union agreements
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements
Maintain and update payroll records and employee data
Coordinate with project managers and HR to gather timesheet data and resolve discrepancies
Ensure proper handling of prevailing wage jobs and accurate wage determinations
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and policies
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation as required

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements (e.g., DIR, WH-347, LCPtracker)
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Foundation, Sage, or UKG)
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently in an office setting

Preferred:

Experience with union payroll or multi-state payroll is a plus
Familiarity with construction job costing and general accounting practices
